Charlie Lowery

Charlie Lowery is based in Athens, TN and has been on the DU staff for four years. For seven years before Charlie became a staff member, he was a DU volunteer in Tennessee. Currently, Charlie works to build support for DU at the grassroots level, recruiting volunteers and empowering them to raise money for the ducks and DU’s conservation efforts. Charlie holds a B.S. degree from East Tennessee State University, is a graduate of Army Airborne School and Engineer Officer Basic School and has prior experience as a construction superintendent and project manager. He was an Army officer for thirteen years and received a bronze star for service in the Persian Gulf War. When Charlie finds free time, he spends it with his wife and daughter on his 80 acre property that they manage to provide habitat for wildlife. One of Charlie’s next projects is construction of a moist-soil unit that he hopes will provide good habitat for waterfowl in east Tennessee. He feels his work is truly rewarding and he cherishes the bond he shares with other DU employees over the passion to conserve waterfowl habitats. Charlie believes in protecting the future of waterfowl and said, “I hope my daughter can tell her kids that her daddy worked for Ducks Unlimited, and look what a difference they made for our generation.”
